Our system is very simple for the teacher while giving each student the hands-on experience of watching their larvae change through metamorphosis. Each caterpillar is in a small container with special diet attached to a larger container. When the caterpillar pupates simply remove the lid and throw away the old diet. Replace the larger lid and watch the chrysalis until the butterfly emerges.
You never have to touch or move the caterpillars.

Butterfly Vivariums are designed to keep your newly emerged butterflies happy and healthy until you can release them outside. These containers open easily and store in a small space. Fill them with potted flowering plants or cut flowers to feed your butterflies while you and your students observe the butterflies.
